Colebee is a suburb of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Colebee is located 47 kilometres west of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of the City of Blacktown and is part of the Western Sydney region. Colebee was named after C. Colobee who is believed to have been the first indigenous Australian to have been granted land in the Blacktown area, at Plumpton Ridge. He was the son of Yarramundi. An analysis of June’s Market Trends report from realestate.com.au reveals suburbs from Kurraba Point to Pitt Town are seeing annual median sale price growth of up to 11 per cent. The best performing suburbs with more than 20 sales annually were in the city’s west with Colebee and Pitt Town on top. Colebee saw the median sale price grow 11 per cent annually from $331,600 to $940,000 in the past 10 years. Pitt Town was second with an annual growth of 10 per cent, pushing prices from $416,000 to $1.08 million despite recent price falls. During the same period, the Sydney median sale price grew 5.7 per cent for houses and 5.3 per cent for units.
Ray White Pitt Town sales director Jason Hulme said new housing estates have seen existing suburbs like Pitt Town skyrocket in value. “The growth hit when housing estates opened up to buyers and offered all the latest bells and whistles the older homes did not have,” he said.
