Beaconsfield is a small inner-city suburb of Sydney, Australia. Beaconsfield is located 5 kilometers south of the Sydney central business district and is part of the local government area of the City of Sydney. The postcode is 2015. Beaconsfield has a mixture of industrial and medium to high-density residential areas.
Beaconsfield is part of the Green Square district which is currently undergoing gentrification. This involves an urban renewal project that is constructing modern retail, business, and residential developments.28.3% and Anglican 16.6%. Beacon Hill is serviced by Keolis Downer Northern Beaches bus services. For many years there have been plans put forward, then withdrawn again for a heavy rail line to be constructed to service the Northern Beaches. Most residents, therefore, drive motor vehicles to get around. The suburb was named after Benjamin Disraeli, Lord Beaconsfield, a British prime minister during the reign of Queen Victoria. The area was part of the suburb of Alexandria and was officially gazetted on 10 June 1977. At the 2016 census, there were 987 residents in Beaconsfield. 60.4% of residents were born in Australia. The most common other countries of birth were Indonesia (5.2%), England (3.9%), New Zealand (3.0%), China (excludes SARs and Taiwan; 2.7%), and Vietnam (2.0%). 68.3% of residents spoke only English at home. Other languages spoken at home included Indonesian (4.6%), Cantonese (3.8%), Mandarin (3.5%), Spanish (2.0%), and Vietnamese (1.3%). Although only small we are blessed with being in one of the best locations in Sydney. We are only 10 – 15 minutes from major shopping centers, beaches, and the city plus we have plenty of local cafés, pubs, and restaurants and for those who love their canine companions, dog-friendly parks. Beaconsfield is located 5 kilometres south of the Sydney central business district and is part of the local government area of the City of Sydney. Beaconsfield is about 8 kilometres west of the Sydney central business district. Beaconsfield’s population is highly multicultural. Beaconsfield is a well-balanced suburb in the Inner West which boasts good public transport connectivity, school access and overall amenities, as well as a range of housing options. There are many pros and cons no matter where you live but Beaconsfield is well placed. It is close to major public hospitals, good schools and universities (both public and private). Crime rates are low and I feel pretty safe walking around (safer than when I was in the City). Over the past year Beaconsfield has outperformed most other sizeable towns in the county and grown at a faster rate than a number of more established commuter areas in the south-east. Yet comparatively, house prices still offer good or even better value in and around the town.
