A free three-lane punt, which operates 24/7, connects the two sides of Berowra Waters. The road on the eastern side has several hairpin bends. Swimming off the private pontoon at you accommodation (if you are staying) is what the locals do. Alternatively swim from you boat (if you have one) but be aware of boat traffic. Crosslands Reserve swimming hole is a tidal, sand-bottomed stretch of river on Berowra Creek on the upper reaches of the Hawkesbury River inlet. It’s in a beautiful setting in Berowra Valley National Park. The reserve is popular and well-maintained and is ideal for picnics, camping and other outdoor activities. The ferry is operated by a private sector operator under contract to Transport for NSW, and is free of tolls. The crossing is 250 metres (820 ft.) in length and takes approximately three minutes.
